Les ventes de VR au Canada après 5 mois!

En résumé, et après les 5 premiers mois de l'année:

1- Au Canada, les ventes de VR tractés (tentes-roulottes, roulottes, 5th wheels et maisons de parc) ont connu une baisse de l'ordre 25,9% en mai et une baisse de 17,5% pour les 5 premiers mois de l'année!

2-Toujours au Canada, les ventes de VR motorisés (classe A, B, B+ et C) démontrent en mai une hausse de 2,5% mais une baisse de 1,9% pour les 5 premiers mois de l'année !


SSI: Canadian Towable Sales Fall 26% in May

Year-over-year Canadian towable retail sales declined 25.9% in May and 17.5% for the first five months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. All categories were down in May, as the sector has registered negative sales totals every month this year compared with 2013.

Results by segment showed:

• Sales in the travel trailer sector fell 24.2% in May and 15.9% year-to-date.
• Canadian fifth-wheel sales declined 30% for the month and 20.4% through May.
• Folding camping trailer registrations declined 35.2% in May and 27.3% for the five months.
• Canadian sales of recreational park trailers were down 14.8% for the month and 31.7% year-to-date.

Thor Industries Inc. was the overall Canadian towables sales leader through May with a 39.8% market share, followed by Forest River Inc. (30.7%) and Jayco Inc. (16%).
Thor was also the leader in travel trailer sales for the five months, holding a 39.4% market share, while Forest River was No. 2 (28.6%) and Jayco was No. 3 with a 17.6% share.

Thor was the leader in the Canadian fifth-wheel sector year-to-date, capturing a 49.2% market share, with Forest River at No. 2 posting a 31.7% share followed by Jayco at 8.3%. In the park model sector, Thor held a 42% market share while Forest River garnered an 18.8% share followed by General Coach (14.5%).

Forest River led Canadian folding camping trailer sales for the five months with a 66.7% market share while Jayco posted a 24.6% share.

SSI: Canadian Coach Sales Gain 2.5% in May

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome sales gained 2.5% in May but dipped 1.9% for the first five months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc.

Forest River Inc. was the Canadian motorhome sales leader year-to-date, capturing a 34.4% market share, followed by Thor Industries Inc. (18.8%) and Winnebago Industries Inc. (17.5%).

May Class A registrations grew 16.7% while year-to-date sales were up 6.9%. Forest River was No. 1 through May with a 25.7% market share, ahead of Thor (18.2%) and Allied Recreation Group (17.1%).

In the Class C segment, May sales fell 4.3% from a year ago and 7.5% for the five months. Forest River led the category with a 41% share followed by Thor (19.2%) and Winnebago (18.8%).
