SSI: Canadian Motorhome Sales Dip 3.3% in Sept.

Year-over-year Canadian motorhome registrations dipped 3.3% in September while declining 12.3% for the first nine months of 2016, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).
Thor Industries Inc. led the Canadian motorized segment year-to-date, capturing a 37.8% market share while Forest River Inc. was No. 2 with a 35.8% share followed by Winnebago Industries Inc. (13.3%). SSI noted that sales by Jayco Inc. were included in totals for Thor, which acquired the company on July 1.
Class A registrations declined 13.1% for the month and 28% year-to-date. Thor led the sector for the nine months with a 34.7% market share followed by Forest River (22.6%), Newmar Corp (13.1%) and REV Recreation Group (12.2%).
In the Class C segment, sales climbed 10.8% in September but were flat year-to-date, down 0.4%. Forest River led the category with a 43.1% market share while Thor held a 39.5% share and Winnebago notched 14.6%.
