SSI: Canadian Towable Sales Down 13.2% For June.

Year-over-year Canadian towable sales declined 13.2% in June and 16% for the first six months, according to the latest report from Statistical Surveys Inc. (SSI).
Results by segment showed:
• Sales in the travel trailer sector fell 10.4% in June and 13.3% year-to-date.
• Canadian fifth-wheel sales tumbled 26.7% for the month and 26.6% through June.
• Folding camping trailer registrations edged down 4% in June and showed a 14.7% decline year-to-date.
• Park model RVs were up 15.4% in June on low volume but fell 60.3% year-to-date.
Thor Industries Inc. was the overall Canadian towable sales leader through June with a 36.7% market share, ahead of Forest River Inc. which held a 33.5% share. Jayco Inc., which was acquired by Thor on July 1, garnered a 19.9% share.
Thor was the leader in travel trailer sales for the six months, posting a 37.1% market share, followed by Forest River (32.8%) and Jayco (20.6%).
Thor was No. 1 in Canadian fifth-wheel sales, capturing a 44.3% market share, followed by Forest River (29.7%), Jayco (14.5%) and Grand Design RV Co. (7%).
Forest River led year-to-date Canadian folding camping trailer sales with a 62.5% market share while Jayco posted a 28.5% share.
Woodland Park Inc. led the park model segment through June with a 40% market share.
